This collection holds empathy for the computer, its original purpose to function as a tool, its unknowing birth into something in between humanity and its original form. The garments represent humanity's fossil, illustrating its love, sorrow, history, and the way it cannibalizes these characteristics. I stand against the phasing out of the human hand and traditional craft techniques by the swift industrialization of fashion. By merging atomic age futurist aesthetics with the time-honored craft of knitting, I marry the doomed machine and the human in his work. My thesis utilizes flatbed machines, SHIMA, and hand-knitting techniques, as well as integrating hand-built ceramic elements and accessories into the garments.
